GEA Microwave Arcade
At this year’s Maker Faire, we’re unveiling our Microwave Arcade: a retro gaming twist on old microwaves. We transform them into playable arcade cabinets using a Pepper’s Ghost illusion for holographic visuals. Paired with classic arcade controls, each game is vibe coded to feature microwave themed challenges, blending nostalgia and DIY creativity. It’s an interactive, whimsical twist on gaming history!

LVL1 Hackerspace
A selection of our Maker/Hacker community’s most exciting projects and creations are on display for you to witness, interact with, and become inspired to foster the joy of making. Ask us how you can get involved to pursue projects of your very own at our community workshop in Butchertown. This year we are showing off a range of individual projects in the fields of electronics, wood/metal working, computers, music,&3D printing; as well as some exciting demos of collaborative hacking and tinkering including a PowerTool Drag Race, NoHoldsBarred Pinewood Derby, Souped up Powerwheels and Alien Autopsy.
River City Rocketry rocket vehicles, avionics systems, payloads, and more
River City Rocketry (RCR) is the University of Louisville’s student-run competitive high-power rocketry team. Since 2012, RCR has given students hands-on experience designing, manufacturing, testing, and launching real aerospace systems. Members work across vehicle structures, propulsion, avionics, recovery, payloads, and data acquisition while preparing for major competitions such as IREC and Dollar Per Foot. The team also supports high-power rocketry certifications, technical mentorship, and STEM outreach throughout the greater Louisville area. RCR’s goal is to develop engineers through real design-build-test-fly experience that carries directly into industry.
