Regis Cards
Started in 2020 and located in Louisville Kentucky. I create high-quality greeting cards, some of which are worthy of a frame. My designs vary from hand-painted water color cards to intricate die cut patterns and everything in between. I meticulously craft each card and regularly add new designs to my collection. I enjoy sharing my creations with others and have hundreds of cards to choose from.
Hestia
AL is a countertop device and companion app that keeps aging parents and their adult children in each other’s daily lives without either having to check in physically . Most older adults living alone are independent, and run their week. What they lack isn’t supervision but a shared channel. The current substitute is the weekly phone call, answers neither fully trusts. It answers questions out loud, shows the day’s plan, cycles photos the family sends, and dispenses pre-sorted medication on schedule. The app gives the family the other side: a written summary of the parent’s day, sleep and vitals pulled from wearables she already owns, and one thread where siblings coordinate and act. Between them sits an agent layer that turns signal into something readable in thirty seconds.
Identification of K-long meson in the Belle experiment
Long-lived neutral strange mesons (K-long) are identified by the energy deposits in the calorimeter (ECL) and the K-long and muon (KLM) detector in the Belle II experiment, which collects data from electron–positron collisions at center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV in Japan. However, photons, neutrons, and other neutral hadrons can also deposit energy in the ECL and KLM detectors. The reconstruction of K-long is challenging due to the lack of satisfactory models that can describe well their shower shape and energy deposition in the detectors as well as the limited resolution of the KLM detector. This will improve the efficiency of neutral-hadron reconstruction and enhance the physics reach of Belle II analyses involving missing energy and heavy flavor physics observables.
Investigating the Contextual Nature of Organic Chemistry Students’ Modeling Knowledge
What makes a scientific model good? And when do we change scientific models? This study investigates student conceptions of these questions. First, we asked them to consider these prompts abstractly, and then had them generate a predictive model for organic acid-base equilibria, after which they engaged in evaluating and changing their own models. This comparison allowed us to consider how students’ ideas about models (epistemic modeling knowledge) related to the factors they considered when actually engaging in the practice of evaluating and changing a model. We found that students often considered different factors when discussing their ideas about models broadly versus when they actually engaged in modeling, providing instructional implications for how to support students in this skill.
