Power Racing Series - LVL1
LVL1’s PRS Teams compete with other city hackerspaces in the Power Racing Series, building go-karts from scratch by rummaging, recycling, and reimagining kid toys into near-legitimate racing machines. With shoestring budgets and over a decade of shared experiences, teams assemble frames from scrap metal and junkyard finds before equipping new electric drivetrains and fitting Powerwheel bodyshells of their chosen theme. LVL1 is represented by several unique builds. Still appearing on grid are Starz, Bumblebee and latest additions of Starscream and MadMox. Predated by a retired roomba, submarine, firetruck, jeep, and more suspended in our rafters. LVL1 Hackerspace aims to bring you a glimpse into the exciting world of Power Racing and teach you about the opportunity to hack with us!
Louisville PRS Team - LVL1 Hackerspace
Louisville's PRS team is a motley crew turning discarded kid's toys to tiny racing machines, proving growing up is overrated. LVL1 Hackerspace, FirstBuild and garages across the city celebrate a love for racing and making things from scratch with salvaged parts. Knowledge transferred over the years helps teach new participants. Active racers include NedraM, David OG, KevinC, OrionFM, LorenR and anyone willing to help wrench or get behind the wheel. Our backgrounds and skillsets combine to fill gaps of broken plastic, worn sprockets and greased wheels for wild race weekends across the Midwest.
