What inspired you to make this project?
I plan to create another Flowerkistoscope this year. The Flowerkistoscope uses the flower form to create a phenakistoskope, a rotating picture disk that was an early form of animation. The development of animation as an art and science is what inspired me to do this project.

What are some of the challenges you have encountered and how did you address them?
Figuring out ways to communicate to the public how this device works so that they can come up with interesting additions to it.
