How to Apply

Follow these simple steps to apply for Maker Faire:

Planning

How many people should we expect?

In past years, we have seen around 5,000 attendees walk through during the day.

What makes a great Maker Faire booth?

The best Maker Faire booths and exhibits are safe, family-friendly, and interactive. The more you engage the audience, the better. If you would like specific input on how to make your exhibit shine, feel free to reach out to the team.

Can I sell from my table, and is there a fee?

You absolutely can sell from your booth, and there is no fee to do so.

Do I get free tickets and parking as a presenter?

Yes! Tickets and parking are free for all presenters and attendees of Louisville Maker Faire.

Do I get a table and tent?

Yes. Presenters with a designated space get a table and chairs, and a tent if outside. If you and your presentation have specific needs, make sure to call them out in the Call for Makers application or reach out directly to the team.

Is there power and internet?

Yes. We do our best to accommodate power and internet needs for all presenters. If you have significant power needs, please indicate so on your application or reach out to the team.

Can I hang things on the ceiling or walls?

Probably not, but you are welcome to reach out if you have a specific ask.

What is allowed inside?

The University of Louisville team is a generous sponsor of the event, and we are careful to leave their indoor and outdoor spaces better than we found them. To limit any risk of damage, exhibits involving paint, glue, glitter, fire, or other potentially damaging materials are limited to outdoor presentations only. Please reach out with any questions or concerns regarding your specific exhibit.

Special Requests

• Early load-in or late teardown
• Your exhibit requires access to water
• Heavy machinery for set up or tear down, e.g., a forklift, scissor lift, etc.
• Vehicles are part of your exhibit
• Anything else that you want to make sure we know about

On-Site

When is set up?

Exhibit set up will be available Friday evening and Saturday morning before the event opens. If you have a significant setup, we encourage you to load in on Friday evening.

Is there elevator access?

Yes. The Student Activity Center freight elevator will be available for load in and out of the indoor presentation area.

Can I get volunteer help?

Yes. Volunteers will be around and available to assist throughout the day.
