Louisville Maker Faire is a celebration of creativity, curiosity, and hands-on invention. It’s part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new — a showcase of makers, tinkerers, artists, engineers, performers, and hobbyists of all kinds. Whether you’re into robotics, woodworking, crafts, cosplay, or just cool ideas, there’s something here to spark your imagination.

Star Wars R2D2 droid

Everyones favorite Star Wars Droid! Its full-size, screen accurate, is remotely controlled and has all the great R2 sounds. The project was 3D printed and required over 25kg of filament and over 2600 hours of printing time.

SuperKick74: LIVE Art by Phil Back and Steven Beezer

Superkick74 is an artist collective formed by local creatives, Phil Back and Steven Beezer. The team focuses on imaginative art creation, comic book-style art, illustration, creativity, and LIVE art demonstrations. Check out the booth for art prints, books and original sketches.

Nope! The event is completely free and open to the public. Just show up ready to explore.

Where is the event held?

The event takes place at the University of Louisville Student Activities Center, with exhibits both inside and outside the building.

Is parking available?

Yes! Parking is free and available in lots near the venue.

Is the event family-friendly?

Absolutely. Maker Faire is designed for all ages, with plenty of hands-on exhibits and activities for kids and adults alike.

Will there be food?

Yes! Food vendors inside the Student Activities Center will be on-site with a variety of options available throughout the day.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. The venue is accessible, and most exhibits are designed to be inclusive and easy to navigate.

What happens if it rains?

The event will go on rain or shine. Most exhibits are indoors or tented, so there’s plenty to see no matter the weather.
