Jamila Young

Jamila Young is a specialty florist, born and raised in Louisville, Ky. Her love for horticulture and floriculture began at an early age spending time on her family farm. Jamila lost her biological Father to gun violence in 2012. Sunflowers connected her to her Father when he was earth-side, so she grew a bountiful patch of sunflowers a few years after his passing, to pay homage to him. The sunflowers were so bold and beautiful, Jamila wanted to preserve the life in them forever, thus sparking this love for dried flower art. From dainty, real-flower earrings to arranged, floral lamps, Jamila curates an art that doesn’t exist outside of her floral shop. Her eye for detail, and her care for nature collide and present an outstanding medium. Founding JamilaWorks is a passion that Jamila takes much pride in. She finds purpose in serving the community, one keepsake at a time!
