Come Visit REACT at the Maker Faire!

Stop by the REACT (Robotics Engineering and Coding Teams) booth and experience robotics in action! See VEX robots up close, learn how students design, build, and program competitive robots, and discover how REACT is bringing hands-on STEM opportunities to students in our community.

Whether you're a student interested in robotics, a parent looking for STEM opportunities, or just curious about how robots work, we'd love to meet you. Come see what we're building, ask questions, and learn how you can get involved with REACT!

REACT Robotics

REACT Robotics (Robotics Engineering and Coding Teams) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing students with hands-on opportunities in robotics, engineering, programming, and STEM. Through VEX Robotics, students learn to design, build, program, test, and compete with robots while developing real-world skills in problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and innovation. REACT Robotics gives students a place to learn, create, compete, and turn their ideas into reality.

What inspired you to make this project?
REACT Robotics was inspired by a desire to give more students in Hardin County access to hands-on robotics, engineering, and coding opportunities. We saw how programs like VEX Robotics can spark curiosity while teaching valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, programming, and engineering. We started REACT to create a place where students can learn by doing—designing, building, programming, and competing with real robots—regardless of whether those opportunities are available through their school.

What are some of the challenges you have encountered and how did you address them?
One of our biggest challenges has been building a robotics program from the ground up with limited resources. Finding funding, equipment, and a dedicated space for students to meet, build, and practice has required creativity and community support. We’ve addressed these challenges by seeking partnerships, sponsorships, donations, and opportunities to connect with local organizations. We’ve also learned to make the most of the resources we have, growing REACT one step at a time while keeping our focus on providing students with meaningful, hands-on STEM experiences.
